Ciro Biderman
Ciro Biderman is a professor in the undergraduate and graduate programs in Public Administration and Economics at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV); an Associate Researcher at the Center for Studies in Politics and Economics of the Public Sector (CEPESP/FGV); an Affiliated Researcher in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); and a short-term consultant for the World Bank on the economics and politics of local development.
He earned his PhD in Economics from FGV EAESP in 2001 and completed his postdoctoral studies at MIT in 2007. His research interests include urban and regional economics, with a focus on public policies at the subnational level, particularly land policies and their interaction with real estate markets and transportation costs.
He served as Chief of Staff at the São Paulo Transit Authority (SPTrans) from 2013 to 2015 and as Director of Innovation for the City of São Paulo in 2016.
